Mission Statement

To empower neurodiverse young adults to become confident, independent, and work-ready individuals through real-world training, self-discovery, and practical life skills.

 

Program Overview

The AAN Real-World Readiness Program is a workforce and life development experience for young adults ages 18–28. This inclusive program is designed to meet the needs of individuals diagnosed with autism and other learning differences, equipping them with the tools needed to thrive in adulthood.

Whether a participant’s goal is to obtain a job, start a business, attend a trade school, or gain greater independence, this program offers a safe and empowering space to learn, practice, and grow.

 

What Participants Learn

Financial Literacy

• Budgeting, banking, saving, understanding credit

Self-Discovery & Advocacy

• Identifying strengths, navigating challenges, asking for support

Executive Functioning

• Planning, organizing, task initiation, time management

Job Readiness

• Resume writing, job applications, mock interviews, workplace etiquette

Entrepreneurial Awareness

• Introduction to small business concepts, branding, and project based learning

Decision-Making & Communication

• Problem solving, personal boundaries, workplace conflict resolution

Goal Setting

• Creating realistic short- and long-term goals with actionable steps

Real-World Experiences

• Internships, career day panels, bank visits, volunteer opportunities
